Prices are in USD.

MIDORI

If sunshine and saltwater is your thing, Midori Bikinis might be a company to consider for a long-lasting, comfortable bikini. Eco-friendly, sustainable, and ethically made, each bikini is made with Xtra Life Lycra, which is known to last 10x longer than traditional bikini fabric.

Midori’s website quotes, “We partner with and donate to environmental organizations that preserve our oceans and natural resources while utilizing fabrics that are colored with environmentally-friendly, vegan dyes. The facilities we work with prioritize minimizing water waste and pollution. Excess fabric is turned into dog beds which are donated to local animal shelters.”

We found that Midori bikinis were exceptionally soft, comfortable, and fantastic to surf in! They’ll definitely be our go-to swimwear for surf travel for years to come.

Most pieces sell for around $74 each, with sale prices at $36. Surf Suits are $130, on sale at $80.

CARVE DESIGNS

Carve Designs started in 2003 as a surf apparel company after a surf trip to Mexico and has grown into a full-fledged beach lifestyle company. While we’ll focus on Carve’s swim pieces here, it’s important to note that they actually have a really well-rounded clothing line that the swimwear is just a part of.

All of their swimwear is sustainably made from plastic bottles, and even much of their clothing is made from organic cotton. This reduces our reliance on petroleum and cuts back on pollution. Every package shipped is packaged in 100% biodegradable, plant based packaging.

We’ve been wearing Carve Designs bikinis for years, and they’ve held up, year after year, through travel and surf.

Most bottoms are $56, and tops range from $48 to $78. One piece suits are generally around $90.

Voyage Swimwear

Voyage Swimwear began in 2014 and is rooted in the South Florida lifestyle with inspiration taken from sailing and travel. The pieces are printed with colorful charts and maps, and their website states, “A bold step away from traditional motifs, our cartographic designs represents the good life without limits.” The owner was originally inspired by an extended trip on her grandparents sailboat, saying, “"I remember all these colorful maps everywhere, it was my inspiration for the line."

They also carry matching men’s swim trunks, along with a few solid color options for women, like black, red, and even gold, with gold accents featuring the large V on the hips and on the bikini tops.

Voyage Swimwear is a luxury brand, and we can vouch for the quality! We’ve been spotted wearing the gold laden suits on Bahamian holidays.

Pieces sell at $95 per piece and $150 for a one piece suit. Men’s swim trunks also sell at $150 per pair.

Calibri Swimwear

Calibri Swimwear - When nature, spirit & bodies find balance

Designed in California, Calibri Swimwear delivers high quality, sustainable swimwear using recycled materials to “create a full-circle sustainable production all the way from packaging to the final product”. Their website states, “With a desire to make fashionable high-quality swimwear, we love the idea of taking responsibility for the ocean and the planet. Calibri Swimwear is actively being part of the environmental change without compromising the quality of the products. All material is eco-friendly - made with fair trade and ethical rights.”

What we love about Calibri is the softness of the fabric, and the comfort of the fit. The fabrics are recycled materials from old fishing nets and plastics, the hardware metals are all 925 sterling silver, and some of the swimwear features ethically sourced gemstones. For the styles we featured, we’d use these primarily for lounging at the beach or poolside.

Bottoms are typically $95-$110 and tops are $120-140.

GITCHI GAMI

GITCHI GAMI is a Native American term meaning 'big water'.

Founder Jessine Chase grew up in Minnesota and knew she’d never live a traditional lifestyle with a 9 to 5 job so she made her own path after doing a local apparel design program at a community college. The website states, “GITCHI GAMI is known for exotic prints, seamless comfort, sexy silhouettes, and one of a kind design. Its about the balance of day-dreaming and risk-taking. Its about taking the path less traveled and never being afraid to stand out.”

You can also order a custom bikini! There is a form on the website that handles the entire ordering process sp you can have the print, the cut and fit that you want. She’s even able to make small requests like raising the neckline, or adding coverage.

The fabric is extremely soft and the fits are quite comfortable. We’d even bet that we could surf in some of these styles!

Each piece is around $50, and one piece suits are around $110.

The Hermoza

SOUTHERN CLASS + LATIN SOPHISTICATION

The Hermoza was started at a time when there was a need for fashionable swimwear that was affordable and conservative, and Hermoza was started as an alternative. They not only offer swimwear, which is primarily one-piece suits, but they also have a beautiful array of swim cover-up’s and beach-going accessories.

The website states it best: “Hermoza is a classic Spanish and southern-inspired brand that adds feminine charm to swim and resort wear. Prints typify Latin influence with vibrant colors, bold designs, and chic, sophisticated elegance. Hermoza is distinctive in its remarkable simple approach to offering one-piece swimsuits with classic, supportive silhouettes made from the highest quality materials. The Hermoza line is designed to enhance a woman’s inherent class and sophistication.

We couldn’t speak more highly of the suits we tried. They’re visibly high quality and a nice thick, ribbed fabric with a liner inside. The zippers are a stunning gold, which adds a lot of class to the suits. These are heavy enough that they could be surfed in on windy days to keep the cold wind off, while also keeping the sun off.

Most one piece suits are $128 to $188, and two piece suits are anywhere from $64 to $108 per piece. The long sleeved Else One Piece suit featured in the photos is $228 and the short sleeved Margret suit is $188.

SAlty Mermaid

If you’re like most the ladies on the beach, you’re just there to have fun! Pass me a strawberry daquari and stick me under a beach umbrella with some saltwater in my toes! Salty Mermaid has those days covered with flying colors!

One thing we love about Salty Mermaid is the cheeky cuts. We appreciate any company who can feature a variety of cuts in the booty, and this is one. We also found that these bikinis hold up well, some are surf approved, and the fabric is comfortable and lasts years.

Most pieces are $40 to $70 and one piece suits are typically $60.

SALTY MAGGIE

Sometimes we just need a bikini for that trip to the beach and we really don’t want to break the bank. Salty Maggie is a great choice for those looking for a cute suit to hit the beach or the pool this summer, and they have a fantastic selection!

The company states that, “For every one of our products that you purchase, we will offset its carbon footprint with a positive environmental impact! Yes, we are 100% eco-friendly at 0% cost for you. As part of our mission, we support projects worldwide that develop a sustainable structure to remove the carbon emissions from your favourite products.”

Suits are sold as sets and generally range from around $60 to $90 per set.

JMP The Label

This body-positive lifestyle brand makes finding the perfect suit easy for everyone, and now you can match your man and your kids!

Full Bums Swimwear

Not every occasion calls for that cheeky bikini! Full Bums Swimwear offers a modest cut in fantastic fabrics, and at a really affordable price!

The Australian company’s website states, “We celebrate all women, if you rock a g-sting or cheeky coverage then we are cheering you all the way! But if you're heading to the Father in Laws for a BBQ, you may need to stop by and grab yourself some #fullbumcoverage”

The first thing we noticed about this company was the dinner mint colors that pop on any beach in the world. To top that off, they come in some really cool, waffle fabric and low-back cuts that really flatter any silhouette. Even better is that these suits are actually really affordable!

Most pieces range from around $25 to 30, and one piece suits are $52 USD.

Swoon Swimwear

“Swoon Swimwear is a woman owned, woman designed, and USA made ethical and sustainable swimsuit line. A Swoon swimsuit is made to order just for you!”

We’re not new to Swoon Swimwear here at The Siren’s Log. In fact, we’ve been wearing these bikinis for years! We recommend wearing your favorite Swoon suit to the pool or beach, or anywhere else that requires that perfect little bikini.

Demalou

A company born out of need for quality surf bikinis that stay on in the waves, Demalou isn’t just the best pick for active ladies, it’s made from recycled fabric ECONYL so you can rest assured that you’re doing the planet a favor.

These bikinis last longer than typical nylon, and they’re sunscreen and chlorine resistant! ECONYL is now a known and trusted fabric with an array of colors that feel like a comfortable, second skin. “Nylon waste, otherwise polluting the Earth, is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again.”

But do they hold up in the surf? Yes! They do! We’ve tested them in the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and they stay put far better than your average bikini, and are what we consider a true surf bikini that you can trust in overhead swell. You can choose from a variety of styles and tops are adjustable so you can get the correct cup fit and then really cinch them down tight, while maintaining a comfortable, yet firm fit. Some bottoms also have a draw strings for added tightness when needed.

Lime Ricki

Lime Ricki Swimwear was started by three very adventurous sisters after a frustrating bikini shopping experience. The started the company with six tankini top styles and three bottom styles, and sold out in the first summer and knew they had to keep producing these modest and eclectic suits.

Each suit is made in the USA with the exception of the Retro Sunshine Collection. The company uses bold colors and patterns to create flattering fits that stay put and mix and match well across the site.

Lime Ricki is from Utah, so surfing isn’t exactly their priority or in their marketing strategy, but we can say in honesty that we’ve been over here surfing in these suits for years and they’re actually some of our favorite suits for bigger waves, beach runs and being active! I’ve even worn some of the tops to the gym! These extremely versatile suits are affordable and comfortable, and the modest cuts create really flattering fits on everyone.

At The Siren’s Log, Eidon is one of our favorite companies because of the sharp prints and buttery soft fabrics! Some suits are best for lounging by the pool, while others are the perfect surf bikini. It’s a mix of comfort that means you have a one stop shop for all of your bikini needs. There’s also a selection of larger cup sizes for those who are a little bustier, and tiny tops for the young surfer girl looking for a classy bikini.

Moloco

noun
/moloko/

Moloko is a direct translation from Slavic for “milk” We changed the “k” to a “c” – a little softer around the edges, as we’d like to think we are.

Swimwear made for every season of motherhood.

Each suit by Moloco is designed with a changing body in mind, and now mothers can choose swimwear to meet the needs of any stage of their motherhood, even while breastfeeding. Some tops are equipped with a secret flap that makes breastfeeding easy and accessible on-the-go! While the suits are designs with reason and purpose, they’re still flattering enough to wear long after your babes are grown! The styles are fairly sturdy and could likely be surfed in on smaller days with the longboard if you’re a surfy mama looking for a bikini that can serve multiple purposes!

Tops start at $128 and bottoms at $88. One piece suits start at $178.

SlipIn’s Surf Skins

SlipIn’s was born from the idea that there must be a better way to get in and out of a cumbersome, heavy wetsuit. The one-piece, long sleeved, long legged suit was developed as a means to get in and out of the wetsuits more easily, while also serving other purposes in other places! Little did owner Robin Chesnie know that dive skins had already been created for this exact reason! Once she started production on her own UPF 50+ suits in Southern California, the dive and surf community quickly found SlipIn’s and the company grew.

SlipIn’s aren’t just great for getting in and out of a wetsuit, they’re also perfect for snorkeling and free diving to keep the sun and stinging critters off the skin. Both the long leg and swimsuit style suits can be worn to keep the sun off while surfing, and the leggings can be used for pretty much anything you enjoy doing in the water!

Long sleeved swimsuits like the one featured are $150. Dive skins are $170.

Ocean Flo

SURF SWIMWEAR

Ocean Flo is definitely one of our new favorite companies. The mix and use of alternative colors and prints with the flattering silhouettes and styles really makes this company stand out. Every suit is sturdy and built to hold up in the waves, no matter the conditions.

The company has an array of one piece surf suits, tops and bottoms, and even children’s suits. Styles range from modest to cheeky, giving you good range when deciding what works best for you. Some bottoms are equipped with drawstrings so you can really cinch them down in heavier conditions and tops are adjustable to give you that perfect fit whilst having plenty of room in the cup. Straps on some suits tend to be wider to create a bit more of a comfortable comfortable feel on the shoulders and some styles are also reversible so you can pack less on that next surf getaway!

The suits are made from 100% regenerated nylon and polyester by Vita Xtra Life and is chlorine resistant and has a UPF of 50 to keep the sun at bay. These suits are eco-friendly!
